Best Ever Turkey Guacamole Burgers
Makes 4 Burgers
Turkey burgers can be dry after cooking. That's why I use ground dark turkey in this recipe. Dark meat tends to be more juicy and flavorful. I also double the guac. You can never have enough!


  • 3 Tablespoons of chopped purple onion
  • 1 Teaspoon of chili powder
  • Zest of 1 lime
  • 1/3 cup of finely chopped cilantro 
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 1/3 pounds dark turkey meat
  • 1 Large ripe avocado
  • 1 Seeded tomato, chopped
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 4 buns
  • Cheese of your choice


In a bowl combine turkey, onion, chili powder, lime zest, half of the cilantro, salt and pepper. I use my hands to combine everything well. Make burgers with damp hands. The turkey meat tends to stick to dry hands. Place on plate in refrigerator until ready to cook.

To make the guacamole, mash the avocado until desired consistency. Add tomatoes, cilantro, and lime juice. Season with salt to taste. I also add some chili powder for some heat. (Optional)

You can grill the burgers or pan fry them till done. Melt cheese if using and top burgers with a large scoop of guacamole.
